The Human Behind Success

Dr. Afnan

A story of faith, confidence, grief, commitment, and the human connections that shape who we become.

Beyond the Title

Beyond the title, Afnan describes herself as a woman deeply passionate about life.

Since childhood, she carried a natural curiosity for the world. She was the little girl who climbed the mountains of Al Baha during summer holidays, always looking beyond the house, beyond the familiar, beyond what was expected.

That curiosity never left her. It became part of who she is — a woman moved by life, by people, and by the invisible stories we all carry.

A Life Powered by People

For Afnan, energy has always come through people.

She enjoys her own space and values her private time, but her deepest joy is found in connection. With loved ones, friends, strangers, and even the waiter at her favourite café, she finds meaning in simple human exchanges.

To her, connection is not small. It is life-giving. She gives energy to people, and receives energy from them in return.

The Calling to Help Others

Long before medicine, psychiatry, or public speaking, helping others was already part of her nature.

As a young girl, people came to her with their problems. Friends and family trusted her with their emotions, their conflicts, and their private worries. Even then, she had a way of understanding people.

She could sense what might comfort them, what might hurt them, and how to reach their hearts. What later became her work was first a gift she carried naturally.

The Child Who Could Persuade

Afnan remembers being only nine years old when she convinced her father to let her join a computer course at school.

At that time, computers were not common in homes. The course was expensive, but she spoke with such belief and clarity that her father agreed.

Looking back, she sees that moment as more than a childhood memory. It was proof that she already understood communication, persuasion, and the power of believing in what you ask for.

The power of believing in what you ask for.

The Loss That Changed Everything

In 2023, Afnan faced one of the hardest chapters of her life: the loss of her mother.

Her mother's illness came suddenly. She was diagnosed with cancer, and within eight months, she passed away. It was a painful, life-changing period, one that tested Afnan in ways she had never experienced before.

She had always known herself to be strong, but grief introduced her to a different kind of strength.

Grief introduced her to a different kind of strength.

Living Through the Greatest Fear

Before losing her mother, Afnan had already lived through difficult moments.

In 2020, during the COVID lockdown, she was stuck alone in Tabuk, away from family and friends. At the time, she believed that was one of the hardest experiences she had faced.

But loss showed her another level of pain. It taught her that one of her greatest fears could happen, and still, life would continue.

What Grief Gave Her

Grief did not make Afnan bitter. It made her softer, deeper, and more surrendered.

During her mother's final eight months, she stayed beside her, holding her hand until the end, surrounded by her siblings. In that pain, her relationship with God grew stronger. Her trust in destiny deepened.

She learned that patience arrives in ways we do not expect, and comfort can come even after the thing we feared most has already happened.

Confidence Is Not Born in One Day

For Afnan, confidence is not something that appears suddenly.

It is built slowly, through childhood, support, practice, mistakes, fear, and courage. She believes support matters deeply, because the way someone sees us when we are young can shape how we see ourselves later.

Confidence is not only about standing strong. Sometimes, it begins with being seen, heard, and loved.

Her Father's Gaze

Afnan's father played a powerful role in her early confidence.

Before he passed away, he used to listen to her stories after school. He looked into her eyes, encouraged her to speak, and made her feel that her voice mattered. Even today, she remembers the love in his gaze.

After his death, she lost part of that safety. A part of her confidence became quiet. But with time, she began to rebuild herself.

Finding Her Voice

Every new stage helped Afnan rebuild herself.

School gave her new beginnings. University taught her independence. Toastmasters taught her how to stand in front of a room, even when her heart was racing.

She was afraid. She shook. But she stood anyway.

Do Not Fear Fear

Afnan's message is simple: Do not be afraid of fear.

Fear teaches. Fear shapes. Fear shows us where we still need to grow.

The only way through fear is to walk toward it.

The Work of Relationships

For Afnan, relationships are one of the biggest challenges of our time.

People are more connected online, yet more distant in real life.

Afnan believes that every kind of relationship — whether in family, friendship, marriage, motherhood, or work — needs patience, listening, forgiveness, and presence.

Love is not only a feeling. It is work we choose.

What Keeps Her Strong

Three things keep Afnan grounded: God. Commitment. People.

Her faith gives her peace. Her commitment gives her direction. Her relationships remind her she is human.

These are the roots that keep her balanced.
