John Galliano has stepped away from his planned 2027 Met retrospective, John Galliano: Horizons, following renewed debate around his past. In his statement, the designer acknowledged the pain he caused and reflected on accountability, recovery and the continuing work of atonement.
It is a decision that leaves fashion with a larger question: how do we hold extraordinary creativity and a complicated human legacy in the same conversation?
